From Idea to Impact: Applying for the PREPPP Award to Strengthen Patient & Public Engagement in Health Research

Interested in involving patients, caregivers, families, and communities in shaping your health research from the very beginning? Join our information session on the Preparing for Research by Engaging Public and Patient Partners (PREPPP) award.

This session will provide an overview of the award, including eligibility, funding details, and what reviewers are looking for in a strong application. Participants will learn how the PREPPP award supports meaningful and inclusive engagement during the early stages of health research—including priority-setting, research design, and grant development.

The webinar will also share practical tips for developing engagement plans, examples of successful projects, and common pitfalls to avoid. Researchers, students, trainees, and community organizations interested in patient-oriented research are encouraged to attend.

The PREPPP award has supported more than 55 projects across Manitoba, many of which have gone on to secure larger research grants and sustain patient and public partnerships throughout their work.
