Overview

Patient and public engagement and patient-reported measurement are often confused or used interchangeably. This session explores their distinct purposes, methods, and contributions to improving health services and systems. Through scenarios and reflection, participants will learn when to use each approach — or both — to support meaningful decision-making and system transformation.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between patient and public engagement and patient-reported measures in purpose, methods, and outcomes;
  • Apply guiding questions to decide when to use engagement, measurement, or both;
  • Explain how engagement and measurement can be integrated in a learning cycle to identify priorities, co-design solutions, and track impact; and
  • Analyze practical scenarios to choose the most appropriate approach.
