Knowledge Mobilization

Create strategies and tools that nudge hearts and minds.

People are complex. Their beliefs and behaviours are strongly guided by incentives, emotions and past experiences. Knowledge mobilization focuses on how to overcome barriers and accelerate what works to improve awareness, understanding, buy-in, and adoption.

Start by meeting your audience where they are.

Areas of Focus

Knowledge Translation and Knowledge Mobilization Research

We lead Knowledge Mobilization (KM) and implementation science research. We provide guidance on the creation of knowledge mobilization plans and how to incorporate evidence-based frameworks for implementation planning at the grant writing stage. Incorporating KM methods and implementation science helps to identify barriers and facilitators, tailor solutions, share learnings across studies and contexts, and ultimately develop more effective interventions.

Belief and Behaviour Change

People don’t always make decisions based solely on the facts you provide—in fact, they rarely do. For example, the perfect diagnosis or prescription means nothing to a patient who doesn’t follow medical recommendations. We need to address their reality first. We can help you develop tools that break through traditional communications barriers to create meaningful belief and behaviour change.

Design Thinking and Educational Resource Co-Development

We can help you build context-rich, insight-driven, practical tools that engage people throughout a project. Too often, people are afraid to make mistakes. Design thinking invites us to fail early and often by developing prototypes and testing them with end users. In doing so, we gain valuable feedback early in the process and the freedom to pivot if initial assumptions are off track.

Capacity Development

Access past webinars from all of our areas of focus on our Youtube channel. Or, visit Knowledge Nudge, our blog, for articles covering knowledge translation and patient engagement. We also offer on-demand webinars, workshops, and free consults, or we can connect you to wealth of other learning opportunities that meet your specific needs.

Branding and Positioning

We can help you understand your audience and position in the marketing landscape. We have helped create memorable identities for programs, health initiatives, labs, tools, and other health-related entities.

Recent
Projects

We can help you incorporate and generate robust evidence, or support you through brainstorming, prototyping, and developing knowledge mobilization tools. Consults are always free.

Project Spotlight

Stimulating health research at home

We recently developed a KT module for researchers doing functional electrical stimulation for MS patients with reduced hand function. People with MS often face barriers related to cognitive load, attention, and memory.

“I wanted participants to feel supported even when they were at home. CHI helped me turn my protocol into something clear, respectful, and patient-friendly.
