This program aims to identify and foster future leaders in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. The focus will be developing skills to assist individuals to prepare for leadership roles while understanding the dynamics of the healthcare system and academic environment. The goal is to develop critical, creative and lateral thinking individuals who can lead an academic health sciences unit while fostering organizational growth, learning and innovation.

The program is targeted to mid-career health care professionals in the Health Sciences faculties interested in progressing to senior level leadership.

This program will be delivered using a small group discussion format featuring selected experts and University and Health Authority senior leaders. An online community will supplement these sessions, supporting participants throughout the program and a capstone project will be required in the area of leadership relevant to the participant’s workplace or sphere of influence. There is no cost for the program.


Running from October 23rd, 2013 to February 12th, 2014, sessions will be on Wednesday nights from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

- Evidence Informed Decision Making
- Business Planning and Financial Fundamentals in Health Care
