Description:

SAS is a powerful programming language used throughout academia and business. It offers a syntax-based environment that handles data management, graphics, simple and advanced statistical analyses, and reproducible workflows.

Date: 

May 16-17, 2019 - 9:30 am - 3 pm

Location: 

Room 474, Chown Building, 753 McDermot Avenue

Objectives:

This workshop is intended for those with training in basic statistics, but without any SAS experience. The goal is to provide participants with all the skills necessary to:

  • Import and clean slightly messy data;
  • Create variables and merge data;
  • Introduce programming loops and arrays;
  • Produce descriptive statistics and basic plots;
  • Perform common analyses such as t-tests and linear regression; and
  • Produce PDF report documents via the ODS delivery system.

There will be a hands-on component to the workshop for participants who bring their own laptops with SAS installed. This is encouraged, but not mandatory. Please see application link below.

Speaker:

Brenden Dufault is a full-time biostatistical consultant with the George and Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation. He has 10 years of experience with the design and analysis of studies in the clinical sciences, population health, randomized trials, and epidemiology. His interests include mixed-effects, latent mixture, and high-dimensional prediction models.
