Description


It can be challenging to know where to begin, or how to go about making health system improvements. Working collaboratively with WRHA decision makers, we undertook an evidence scan to better understand the attributes of high-performing health systems. We will present 14 attributes of high-performing health systems and explore two case studies of high-performing health systems to provide insight into their journeys. Although there is no one-size-fits-all approach, reflecting on these cases can be used to inform the ongoing transformation process in Manitoba. 

Objectives 

  1. To describe the methods used for a rapid scan of evidence regarding high-performing health systems. 
  2. To identify attributes of high-performing health systems. 
  3. To understand how systems become high performing by exploring case studies of high-performing health systems.

Dr. Paul Beaudin is a Researcher with the Evaluation platform at the George & Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation. 

Ashley Struthers is a Research Associate with the Evaluation platform at the George & Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation.
