Date: This is not a timed event.

Description

The Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care was established by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) to develop clinical practice guidelines that support primary care providers in delivering preventive health care.

CHI's Knowledge Synthesis Director, Dr. Ahmed Abou-Setta, was announced as the newest member of the Canadian Task Force. He will help to improve and streamline the systematic review process, detect research bias, support decision-making, and foster and empower patient engagement throughout the research process.

“It is an honour and privilege to join the ranks of this prestigious group of healthcare providers, primary care physicians, researchers, academics,” says Dr. Abou-Setta. “As a father, husband and Canadian, I recognize the importance of being proactive in taking care of our health, but at the same time realize that overdiagnosis can lead to unfounded fears, unneeded testing and a constant worry if something was missed. I have personally witnessed this and know that there must be a balance between vigilance and inattentiveness.”
