Description

Our Academic Health Sciences Leadership program is approaching its ninth year, and we are looking forward to the next round of participants who will be joining us from September to February.

This program identifies and mentors future leaders in Manitoba's health system. The focus is on developing skills to assist individuals to prepare for leadership roles while understanding the dynamics of the healthcare system and academic environment. Program participants range from mid-career health care professionals in the Health Sciences faculties, Regional Health Authorities, and Government interested in progressing to senior level leadership.

UM Today News recently interviewed past participants who gained value in learning leadership skills, with topics ranging from project management to health system sustainability and social responsibility. Last year’s speakers included Dr. Brian Postl, dean of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, Lori Lamont, chief operating officer of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, and Brock Wright, chief executive officer of Shared Health Manitoba.
