Learning Objectives

  1. To understand the role of systematic reviews in health-care decision making from a clinical, health policy and health system perspective.
  2. To understand the process of systematic reviewing – from inception to publication (preparing a review question, protocol, search methods, data extraction forms, data management, analysis, reporting and updating).
  3. To become familiar with a variety of knowledge synthesis products including scoping reviews, overviews of systematic reviews, systematic reviews of observational studies and qualitative reviews.

A mix of didactic lectures, individual and group exercises and interactive discussion will be used. Groups will be kept small to maximize individual instruction.
