Description

The George and Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation would like to congratulate the first round of award recipients for the Funding Award for Patient and Public Engagement in Health Research in the Design and Grant Development Phase.  The purpose of this award is to encourage and provide support for Manitoban health researchers and students to actively and meaningfully involve patients and the public in the early stages of their research project ―  meaning in the research priority-setting, design and grant development phase.

Award winners should take great pride in this achievement, particularly given the competitive nature of this round of award applicants. Award winners excelled in areas such as: level of proposed engagement; innovative engagement techniques; thoughtful participatory approaches; the importance of the subject matter; and the desire to evaluate engagement activities.

Congratulations to the following award winners:

  • Dr. Brett Houston
  • Dr. David William Allen
  • Dr. Gayle Halas and Dr. Shelley Zieroth
  • Dr Kristy Wittmeier and Dr. Kerstin Gerhold
  • Dr. Maya M. Jeyaraman
