This presentation is aimed at anyone who wants to know more about evaluation – what it is, its purpose, aims and common misconceptions.  Examples of evaluation activities undertaken by the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI) Evaluation Platform will inform the discussion.

Learning Objectives:
Following the presentation, participants will be able to:

  2. What evaluation is, its purposes and aims
  3. The truths about evaluation that counter common misconceptions

About the Speaker:
Dr. Catherine Charette conducts utilization based evaluations to support evidence based decision making across the region.  She is an advocate of participatory and collaborative inquiry, a proponent of mixed methods approaches, and specializes in qualitative methods.  Her areas of interest include mental health, housing, homelessness, food security, community engagement and healthy cities (physical and social environments that enable people to develop to their maximum potential).  Catherine has an Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in sociology, geography and city planning.
