Carolyn Shimmin, BJournalism/Poli Sci, MWS
Patient and Public Engagement Lead | Knowledge Translation | George & Fay Yee Centre for Healthcare Innovation

We will explore how to actively and meaningfully involve patients, informal caregivers and members of the public in clinical trials research processes including helping to: identify research priorities and outcomes of importance; clarify the research question; develop the research design and approach; conduct the research; interpret the findings; and disseminate the results. Issues around planning for engagement, compensation of patient partners, building a budget and recruitment will be discussed.
