VADA Program Terms of Reference and Application Forms

The Visual and Automated Disease Analytics (VADA) Program is an innovative and joint initiative between the University of Manitoba and University of Victoria funded by the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) as part of its Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) Program.

The VADA Program aims to train the next generation of health, health informatics, and computational science graduate students to translate complex health data into insights that can be used to improve the health of populations and support health professional decision making.

Through the VADA Program, students will gain cutting-edge visual and analytic skills within a cooperative and experiential learning environment, positioning them to become highly desirable recruits within industry and academia.

Prospective Student Trainees

Students interested in applying to the VADA Program should review the terms of reference. The application requirements include:

  • Completed application form (see linked document below)
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • 2 letters of reference
  • Transcript from academic institution(s) containing the last 60 credit hours

Applications must be submitted to the VADA Program Coordinator (vada.program@chimb.ca) by March 2, 2018 at 11:59pm CST.

 

Prospective Faculty Members

Faculty members from the University of Manitoba and University of Victoria interested in applying to be part of the VADA Program team should review the terms of reference. The application requirements include:

  • Cover letter
  • Completed application form (see document linked below)
  • Curriculum Vitae

Applications must be submitted to the VADA Program Coordinator (vada.program@chimb.ca) by March 2, 2018 at 11:59pm CST.

 

Current PhD Students Seeking a Second Year of Funding

Current PhD VADA Program trainees interested in applying for a second year of funding should review the terms of reference. The application requirements include:

  • Completed interim report (see document linked below)
  • Recent transcript

Applications must be submitted to the VADA Program Coordinator (vada.program@chimb.ca) by April 2, 2018 at 11:59pm CST.
